It is streaked, but my guess is that it is most likely only filthy and the seller tried to just hose it down for the picture.

Here is the lid cleaned up a bit. The rest of the grill is average at best with some good salvageable parts. Lid looks pretty good.

I'm thinking I'll either trade off the lid to someone and use the salvageable parts or I'll build a high level restoration on a 1000 with this lid to donate or maybe sell.

I don't particularly care what color a lid is as long as it's in good shape, that one looks pretty good at first glance. I know you're not excited about the long frame, either am I.

That lid has to be a transplant, I can’t be alone in thinking that can I? A Genesis 3 with fat white walls and a blue lid? Looks gorgeous though!

In the original pic, it looks to me like a warm (outside air temp) grill sprayed with cold water and the resulting condensation/sweating.

One of the reasons I don't like those long frame grills is that beauty cover that goes on the front. Most of them are rusty and can't be saved. The other problem I've found is that the frame is often shot somewhere along where that panel rests against the frame. Yeah, I would probably just strip it for good parts and junk the rest. You could probably sell that side burner on eBay for $100.
