That one's a real base model, it didn't come with a thermometer.

That looks like a first year XX from 1987. It is missing the center horizontal frame piece, an easy fix. Unfortunately, we don’t have the 1987 catalog to know more about it. I modeled mine after the 1988 version which had the narrow slats but which also had no thermometer.

I sold mine painfully cheap. I wish I could get that one and have a second chance!

Not a gasser, but just popped up on FB Marketplace near me so I thought I’d share it here anyways. The picture isn’t the greatest but it seems to have some age. Red also seems to be near the top of most color lists. I just don’t know much about kettles at all and would not be interested in it for myself.
