Curb Alert !!!

I
That back wheel insert looks perfect. The back one seems to always look better than the front one on my grills that I get. I usually switch them and put the better one in the front.

I just ordered a set of those wide white reproduction inserts. Should be here anytime
I do the same thing on my rehabs Josh. If they are too bad, I hit up my stash however.

I’m glad it went to someone in here!! Nice work Bruce! Early bird gets the worm. Just read the whole write up. Huge bummer about the glass though.

You didn’t include your plans for it… flipper or keeper?

Great story Bruce! That’s a cool piece of “Factory authorized upgrade” which would not happen now!
I’m not worried about that little guy now, you will make it healthy and end up with a cool piece for someone.
Strong work Bruce!

I am sure there is a bit of shade difference. But probably not as much as it looks. It could be as simple as mine being photographed outdoors and not yet cleaned up and his being under artificial light and recently cleaned.

Bruce have you compared both your gray lids?

No Josh. My other lid is out in the shed in the back 40. I thought about grabbing it just to compare with this one. But this one is just as nice looking as the other. Maybe next spring when I get to working on it, I will put them side by side.

Bruce, are you sure you won't touch this grill until spring? Put a heater in the garage and at least take it apart?

LOL. Taking it apart is the easy part. I could do that, but then I have a pile of parts sitting in bins along with a big frame. This way, it is a intact, and in one place that is easily moved around. And I don't have to worry about, "Where did the knobs go, or where did the serving trays go". The only benefit to taking it apart now would be to allow me to closely inspect everything and to curb my impatience.

I like the lack of space they take up torn down. But then finding a place a lid can sit safely is more difficult. But I got some wire tags and have all my frame pieces bound together and tagged. And the cook boxes nest nicely inside of one another.

Pretty much what I do with grills I am currently working on during the summer Cody except I normally don't take the frames apart. But for long term storage, I find removing most of the externals and placing them inside the cook box with lid on is a good way to keep the grill and its parts all together until I am ready to start working on that particular grill.
