The Craigslist score. The black gas assist Performer for $80.00. The owner said they were moving to a smaller place and it wouldn't fit...I just laughed and handed him the mula.
It needs a new igniter, but an easy fix.

Christmas gift from a friend. I could have cooked this ham in the oven since it was raining, but whats the fun in that.

I used the snake, the indirect Vortex, and the cajun bandit rotisserie for this cook.

Captain Morgan, brown sugar, budder injected ham.

Really like the look of that cook. Am I correct in assuming that the ham is a pre cooked ham? How do you like the CB roti?

Bob, i had the same question, is it pre cooked or not pre cooked. The website didn't help. I just cooked it until it was 140° internal.

CB Roti is rock solid, but the motor is very noisy.

I'd assume it was hot smoked since it's smoked, but good call to take it up to temp anyway. I love smoked hams.......and good deals! Nice score.

(you must've been thirsty, judging from the pics :) )

Nice Score Jeff! Why don't they ever have those around me? Nice ob on the ham. I have had my eye on the vortex for a while. They seem a bit pricey for what you get. Do you like yours?

Regards,

John

Speaking for myself John, I love my Vortex. Stainless is not cheap but I use my Vortex all the time and it just works great. My advice, pull the trigger on that Vortex and enjoy the results.

Jeff, great looking cook, got to get a roti for my performer.
That's a great score on the performer. That back yard thing is hilarious, you've got a smaller back yard than I do and I have eight Weber's and would love to get another gasser 1000 in red to go with my green 2000. But Barb just gives the "ain't gonna happen big boy no room" look. I've got to disarm her with that video of your back yard, see plenty of room sweetie.

Nice score Jeff. That's the same vintage as mine. I know you'll like it. That plated shot at the end is fantastic.

Thanks Cliff, the only thing I don't like is the plastic table, I will be replacing it soon, pic's to come.

Clint as always I like your input, It was the best ham I have ever cooked, great flavor.
I like a beer when I drink cocktails, one I can drink the other I can sip on.

Great score on that weber!!!! Ham looks very tasty!!!!!

Thanks Michael, simple cook nothing extravagant, Ham was tasty, it was raining here but it was probably snowing at your pad.

John I bought my Vortex way back when for $37.00, one of the best BBQ items I have ever bought, I use it all the time .....Step up to the plate, you won't be disappointed.

Everything looks tasty Jeff. Nice deal on the Performer.
Cool thanks Pat. Funny thing when I was looking for BBQ's on Craigslist, I typed in weber grill instead of the usual BBQ grill, the Performer showed up under Weber grill, but not under BBQ grill...who knew.
It was posted 3 hours before I saw it and I jumped on it.

Rich, Don't use my backyard video as leverage with Barb to get another BBQ, unless it works;)

I forgot the homemade Strudel that Mimi made. This was very tasty, with some rum in it to boot.

Nice score and excellent first cook. Sounds like the brushes in the motor may need replacing in your roto?

ChuckO...I have lost just as many Craigslist items as i have won, this one just went my way.

The Roti sounded just like in the video since i bought it, but you know its doing the job.
Anybody else want to chime in on the One Grill battery operated roti?
I know, if it works don't fix it.

Excellent score and awesome cook! I've only seen one pop up in craigslist around here and it was $150. It was very tempting. 80 is a no brainer!

Well Dustin it went like this. In another town I would have been worried.

Typical Craigslist.
Me:Ill pay/pick it up Friday night if thats ok.
Him : great 4:00pm ish
Me: sounds great
Him:won't make it at 4:00pm
Me: No problem.
Him:Ill be home around 5:30pm
Me: I'm have an hair cut appointment at 5:30pm, ill come over after that if thats ok.
Him: Ill go get a quick bite to eat then.
Me: 6:00pm I'm in front of what i think is your place.
Him:20 minutes later..ill be there at 7:00, meet me in the alley.
Me:*** am I getting myself into, no street lights and meet me in the alley.
Me: Is this another Craigslist scam/ripoff.
Him: be there in two minutes.
Me :Ok.
Him:you found the place.
Me: Nicest people you could ever meet, but you never know.
