Barb and I went to Costco this morning and got a little sticker shock. Bought a three pack of baby backs $5.49 a pound. St. Louis cut ribs $4.99 lb. and brisket choice was $4.99 lb. so I passed on that. Saw a full tenderloin for $13.59 a pound or $217.89, passed on that one too o_O . Didn't check the pork bellies as I have two in the freezer now, didn't need anymore surprises.

Welcome to my world. Choice...AKA as AAA in Canada is on sale price at $5 a pound.
Tenderloin is closer to 18.99 a pound here......:(
I picked up yesterday a AAA NY strip in roast form for $65 or so.......
Took it home and cut it into 6 - 1 inch steaks.
Made 2 up last night on the Jumbo Joe, nice cut I picked out there......

Yep Barb works at Safeway and one of the butchers told her that this was just the beginning, their wholesale prices have gone up about 40% in one month. Now that you mention it I think the price on the tenderloin might have been $19.59 that would line up with the size of it better, label was kinda honked.

I read that the meat packer who suffered the hack, I think it was J and B foods, was Costco's meat supplier.

Bought 2 three packs of BB's from Sam's before memorial day for $ 3.28 lb. and I thought that was high.
Tenderloins are usually pricey. I think 5 or 6 years ago they where $ 25.00 lb. at Meijer's.
I used to get them from Prisco's for $ 5.00 Lb . I loaded up the trunk.

It's going to be hard to afford being a carnivore in the near future.
So much I have been considering anew freezer and all the meat to fill it.
If things keep going the way they are the initial cost will offset any problems in a hurry.
I don't want to be like that but I do not own a crystal ball.

At a local store yesterday packer CAB briskets were $3.79, maybe I'd better grab one, even though I don't cook them very often. I did get a Choice chuck roast on sale for $4.99/lb.
Not long ago they were $3.99 or a little less.

yeah... prices are jumping here in Northern California. With a severe drought, I wonder when water prices will pass beef prices.

Costco brisket is $4.99 a lb. local Riley’s has fully trimmed brisket for 8.99. Think I may get one of those As once trimmer, i usually lose 50% if it.

Yup. At my Costco, ribs and butts are always Swift, which is a JBS brand.

The Costco baby back 3-pack in my deep freeze from early March was $2.89 a pound...

Costco near me had a large number of prime packers for $4.99 a pound. I'll have to keep an eye on these prices because I want to do one for Fathers Day.

I was at our local Costco the other day (Eden Prairie MN) and all they had were flats...I even asked the guy in the back and he said all the packers were gone.

I was in my local St Louis area Costco yesterday and meat prices were about the same as usual. No burger except frozen patties.

I picked up a few things at my local costco ( sacramento CA area ) last night

Tri Tip choice: 8.99 lb. Price went up a couple of months ago.
St. Louis Pork Ribs: 3.69 lb. These were 2.99 a few months ago.
Pork Shoulder: 1.99 lb. Some in the same bin with a "pack date" a day later were priced at 2.49 lb. There was only one at 1.99/Lb.

These are swift brand.

seemed like they had most meat in stock. I saw Baby Back ribs, baby back ribs, pork belly, full briskets and short ribs from what I remember.
