Costco Packers

Just back from my Costco and they had a ton of Prime packers at $4.99/lb. Still higher than normal, but down from the $5.99 they were a month ago.

Same price here in MN now. Several weeks ago, they were up around $9.99/lb. What I didn't check over the weekend was if the 3 packages of meat limit was still in effect.

I hadn't even thought about that, but I'm pretty sure that limit is gone. A) They were very well stocked. B) I walked out of there with some baby backs, flap meat, lamb chops and Prime NY Strips. Not way over the limit if it were in effect, but over nonetheless. I was also able to grab a half gallon bottle of GermX hand sanitizer. Those were clearly marked "Limit 1".

What is flap meat? And they sell that at Costco?

I've a little confusion on that. What I got today closely resembles skirt steak.

I think you're right. I don't recall seeing that 3 item limit when I was in Costco the weekend before last.

Looks like a skirt steak. I have never seen any sirloin tip that looks like that. And at Costco no less?

Sam's Club is selling Prime Brisket and Choice Angus Brisket for $3/lb. in Ventura county CA.
Which one sounds better?

Damn, that's a great price. Buy whichever one looks more marbled and has the better shape. The last few I've bought have the flat taper down, super thin, almost to nothing. Better yet, buy them both, cook them at the same time, and have a taste test! The only brisket my local Costco had this week was prime and it was $4.99/pound.

Flap meat is very common at Costco here in CA. It's always confused me, it does kind of look like skirt steak, but is less expensive.

I'm treating mine as if it were skirt steak. There were two, fairly large, steaks in the package. I rubbed both down with a Latin inspired rub (S&P, cumin, chili powder, paprika, oregano, garlic powder) and vac sealed them separately. I'll make fajitas or tacos with them at some point.
