In your opinion is there a best option product or is it just that style in general? Is there a stainless steel option?I used those before as well. But they are really designed to be used as table leveling inserts. They are not really designed as "Tube Connecting" inserts. They don't hold as well and the square flange on the end does not fit inside the tube, so it sticks out when installed.
You have a personal favorite brand or just that style in general?IMO: The actual tube connecting nuts are superior. They don't have the exposed square flange and they have dual star nuts which should have better grip than a single star nut. And, after all, that is what Weber originally used. I do not know of a stainless version of them.
Cool thanks Bruce! I don't need any at the moment but might need some for a project coming up.The McMaster link I provided are ones that I have ordered and used in the past and was very happy with them. I could not find exactly what I wanted off Amazon or Ebay. But, I have not ordered or looked for them for a couple years.
You've never had to replace those? That's funny, I've never not had to replace them.Cool thanks Bruce! I don't need any at the moment but might need some for a project coming up.
Nope I haven't. I was just curious about them for a custom project. You've never had to replace those? That's funny, I've never not had to replace them.
Sorry about your loss Cody. My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family.Well, I figured I’d leave this here as I’ve been pretty non-existent on here for a while.
Last week we unexpectedly lost my father. He went quickly and peacefully, as he had hoped for, just not so soon. I am likely going to be taking some time away from grill rehabbing. Hopefully at some point this winter I’ll get back to it.
Those of you that enjoy an adult beverage, please feel free to raise a glass (without alcohol would be fine, too), to a man that thinks what we do, is a little crazy, but really f-in cool.![]()
