Cilantro Garlic Chicken Thighs

I marinated some chicken thighs for two days in EVOO, cilantro, garlic, red pepper flakes and honey. I added some lime juice to them about an hour before as I didn't want to have it in the marinade for two days.

Onto the performer indirect.

Just about done. I cooked them direct for a little bit but did not flip them as there was plenty of garlic and cilantro resting on the top of them.

Resting.

Plated.

These came out very good. I am glad I did not flip them as the garlic was roasted perfectly.

Thanks for looking.

Not a flavor I'd have thought to try on my own but I'd like to try it now - sounds great.

Those thighs look fantastic Pat. Your marinade sounds really good. I love garlic and cilantro. I'll have to try it.

I like the marinade Pat, two thumbs up on the chunks of garlic on the non flipped chicken.

Cilantro and Garlic, two of my favorites. I will have to try this. I also never tried marinating for two days, will have to try that as well.

I have been experimenting with the two day marinade and have been happy with the results. I am careful not to use citrus in the long marinades due to the acid.

I totally agree on the acid part Pat, i marinated some shrimp kabobs in lime juice for a Football tailgate party, it was cooked before we cooked it.
Lesson learned the hard way.;)

Pat, that looks delicious and I like the marinade and two days in it. your plated pic tells the story for sure.
