Rummaging through the spice cabinet, I found some old Williams Sonoma chili lime rub. I had a tri tip in the fridge. Gee, what to do?
Here's the tri outta the cryo:
And rubbed down thoroughly:
Made a little guacamole for an app and some taco spread:
After a while on the cool side, moved it to direct for a quick sear (yeah, I stole a sample):
Resting for a few:
Turned out pretty good. Great flavor from the rub.
Plated with some black beans and rice:
