One of our favorites. First time doing it this Spring.

Chicken, Italian Sausage, bay leaf and baguette skewered.

On, indirect the whole time. Maybe a little too hot this cook...

Off. Bread got too "done" on the edges

. If you're going to try this, I'd suggest doing the bread on it's own skewer(s) so they can be taken off when perfect. We will next time...

Still very good even though the "croutons" were a little burned. Won't happen again

Heck, we love Cajun toast around here. I'd murderize that plate of food!

Looks really great, but the thought of raw chicken going against the bread gives me pause.
I like the grilled crouton idea though, can't stand those rock hard store bought ones.

I was thinking the same thing. More reason to do the bread on its own skewer. Looks like a great salad, regardless.
