A friend was camped at a real campground so I went and joined him for a couple days. It was really nice. We did had two hours one day of smoke from one of the forest fires (couple hundred miles from where we were camped) one morning. After that it was all sunshine. I didn't take any photos of our camp food. I did take the 14" WSM. Did a tri tip one night and a spatched chicken another night.
We camped at Hosmer Lake. My great uncle and great aunt were the camp hosts there from 1988-2016. He passed away last year at age 93. He was known as the Mayor of Mallard Marsh. Mallard Marsh is the campground name. They had his photo and passing notification on the information board at the fee station.
Here's a few photos of our adventure.
This buck came through our cam every morning with a couple does in toe.
Forest fire smoke blocking the view of Mount Bachelor. You all remember my little sous Chef? Well he's 16 and all grown up now!
Mount Bachelor latter in the day no smoke
South Sister. I've been to the top several times.

If you zoom in you can see ducklings. There were lots of them on the lake.
Broken top. aptly named.
Flaming skimmer dragon fly
The canoe launch that my great uncle built. He had a fleet of 12 canoes that he let campers use to go paddle the lake.
This doe was sloshing through the tall grass at the edge of the lake.
South Sister and Broken top.
After a long day of paddling Oly becomes king of camp.
Uncle Mackie as he was know to us.
