Broke in a Vortex with wings

I've been meaning to get one for years, but my cheap-*** kept putting it off. I found one the other day at Wally World on sale for $26.00, so I blew the dust & cobwebs out of my wallet and finally pulled the trigger.
These are the best wings that I've ever done on a grill.

Depending on how you like your steak they're good for cooking those too. Wings are great and yours look perfect
Thanks!
Medium rare, of course :)
I have an SnS with Grillgrate that reside permanently in one of the kettles for searing, but I do see how the Vortex would be a great for steaks too.

Once you have one, the game is ON! It’s a great piece of equipment. I got mine direct from Marty Owens (Owens BBQ) and have both medium (22” kettle) and small (18”) I am glad that I went ahead and got the small one, when it’s just two of us, it saves fuel. If anyone is on the fence, don’t sit there, just get it! (I have absolutely no financial interest in it just, a very satisfied customer!)

Yeah....I'm looking forward to using it. I just violated my wallet even more, (I'm very cheap..and proud of it), so I dropped a some $$ for a Hunsaker 304 SS cooking grate with the removeable center. I've wanted a heavy duty SS grate for years anyway, and the Vortex gave me an excuse.

I am a tightwad when it comes to handing out my money.
I once pondered about purchasing a vortex, I mean it’s only a relatively small piece of SS sheet metal with some rivets and not cheap considering what it is.

I’m glad I did though.
It cooks chicken the way I like.

Sometimes the wife and I have a plate of wings with a couple side dishes and consider it a good meal.

I was gonna say the Vortex will burn off the nickel plating on a stock grate but yours looks well used.
I used the Weber gourmet grate with the removable center but upgraded to a solid SS grate with the flip up sides from Killa Grilla when he still was doing business.

I got killa grilla too but saved the old crappy grill specifically for vortex wing cooks....they are sooooo good.

As a charter member of the Cheap Bastard club, I can respect that.

I pondered for years myself for the same reason, but I couldn't pass it up for $26.00. I could not believe how great the wings turned out.

Every time I look to buy wings I get pissed off at the price gouging, I can buy breast for less than $2 a lb but wings $3.69 and higher? crazy, will strip out some breasts sometimes and flour/fry then have different wing sauces. At 1 time they were the cheapest cut you could buy, same thing for pork steaks and anything that sez beef is crazy, Oh well gotta eat and I'm sure I wouldn't like to eat gruel at every meal :ROFLMAO: . fried some UGO pork chops yesterday they were great, charcoal keeps going up I will start flogging the pellet smoker more, bag of pellets goes farther than a bag of charcoal.
