Just got back from Walmart where I noticed packer briskets are now selling for $2.98 a lb!:(. What are prices like in your neck of the woods? I sure hope we can get back down to the $2.50 lb. range by summer.

Yes. :)

Here in Italy they don't sell brisket at all, because if the cut looking for the brisket they wreck other famous meat cuts around. So I have to order to my butcher and he gets them from USA or AUSSIE. The price is $13\kg - $6.5/lg circa. Usually I wait 30/40 days to get them.
This is italian issue.

I read similar articles that said it would be at least through 2015 and prices may rise as much as 20%.

I'm with Bob on this, "Eat more chiken"! Of course, I am a pork person and truly appreciate the bargain that pork represents. Whether it is ribs, Boston Butts (pulled pork and pork steaks), or Pork Chops it is all reasonably priced. This past week I picked up a package of Boston Butts (2 count) that weighed 17+ lbs that cost $1.49 per lb. and they were NOT on sale (GFS). They were wonderful, too!~

Chicken is not bad either:rolleyes:. Whether it is whole chicken or chicken parts it's all GOOD! They are a natural for the grill and smoker.

Keep on smokin',

Enrico, I don't think anybody could question your dedication with that process of getting a brisket.
