Grilled some Brats on Wednesday night. Used my favorite Brat recipe from Weber. Felt like some beans to go along with them and tried something new. Found a good looking recipe on line. Two problems. One was it was a crock pot recipe. Ug. Two, it left out some of my favorite stuff. Converted to something I could do on the grill and added my stuff.
Did some prep on the beans earlier in the day. Browned a little over a pound of lean ground beef.
Added coarsely chopped onion and lots of garlic.
Mixed well.
Here it is ready to go into fridge until later this evening. Used Bush's canned kidney beans, Mexican stewed tomatoes, celery, red bell pepper, jalapenos, fresh corn, garlic, red wine vinegar, chili powder, cumin, dried parsley, dried basil, some Worcestershire and some good Cabernet Sauvignon.
Did the prep for the Brats. Veggies for the beer bath later.
Johnsonville all the way.
That evening I got the beans on grill for just under 2 hours.
Around one hour.
Got the veggies for the Brats sweating in some butter.
When the veggies limbered up placed in the beer moved to the indirect side. Put Brats on the heat side.
