Bourbon Day 6/14/25

The heck with Hawaii, my next vacation is at Duane's place. That's awesome that the serve the drink under glass in smoke
They do a great job with their drink presentation. They have the perfect glassware, ice, garnish etc. for all their drinks. They make all their own bitters and other flavorings for the various cocktails. Their food is quite good as well. I bought one of these for home use.

After a day of fiddling with disgustingly dirty kitchen windows (Mea Culpa…) followed by a top to bottom vacuuming, prep for a biggish party on Saturday, starting framing of art for granddaughter and grandsons birthday, fighting with setting up new equipment for internet/TV/phone connectivity. I’ve earned the two perfect Manhattans I just finished.
More work to follow, completing picture framing, making fresh strawberry ice cream, do some shopping tomorrow, I will just possibly make another batch before hitting the rack! Maybe I shall wait until I finish some stuff tomorrow?

A couple of other posters and I accidentally hijacked the Stars and Stripes kettle thread because I use it and my Stealth kettle to hold some of my bourbon collection.

Seems it would be more appropriate here. Lol. And, like someone already said, everyday is bourbon day at my house

Typical bourbon is at least 50% corn, rye is the second most grain, and malted barley is 3rd.

A wheated bourbon substitutes rye as the second grain.

Weller is the most well known of the wheated bourbons. Maker's Mark is the other. Much smoother and sweeter than most other bourbons.
Saw it at Costco and had never heard of it. Thanks!

Like you saw Weller at Costco, or their Kirkland brand? If they have Weller, you should buy it. Great elite level bourbon that is also super approachable. It's damn near impossible to find in Florida since only ABC super stores have the exclusive contract for it in the state.
