BIG Burgers and a Failed Project

Well the fog has lifted and today we got up to 62 degrees. There have been so many posts of great burgers that I was getting hungry for a couple.

Went to a new butcher and they had 90% ground sirloin which is a little too lean for burgers so I added some bacon fat, onion powder, garlic powder, a spice blend from Rachel Ray and S&P. Here are the two patties waiting for the grill to get hot:

I cooked the burgers with a reverse sear method. The jalapeño and cheese roll along with the horseradish cheddar are waiting for their turn on the grill:

Time for the burgers to go direct:

Everything is looking and smelling good, but I still think I'm going to have a "Failed Project"

Buns getting toasty and the meat and cheese are getting happy:

Plated and heading in to get dressed....looks so good I hope there is a beer in the fridge:

Dressed the burger with garlic aioli, yellow mustard and banana peppers, went to the fridge for a beer....and Project Failed:

Oh hell....I can't eat both of these, here's yours. Those are jalapeño chips with the burger.

On my way to the Butcher Bill. The brew was average for this brewery, I wouldn't seek it out, but if I found it I would drink it.

The cook looks REALLY good - great looking burgers!

Well, the weather is "clearing" here, too. It's going to get "clear" down to -10 degrees tonight with a high, tomorrow of 10 above:p. I'm a wuss and will start grillin' and smokin' when the weather moderates...

Here's to SPRING!!

Keep on smokin',

That last plated pic might be picture of the year on this site. Looks like there's hope for warmer weather
