Best dishwasher under $1,000.00

Well, the dishwasher will be delivered this morning! They will un box and put in place, actual installation will happen next Tuesday!
I should be in good shape for Thanksgiving cleanup! So ready for being done with this! Every project seems to open a Pandora’s box of other misery before hope comes off the bottom!

Best of luck!

Well, the guys got it in with no problem at all, it’s tucked into its slot and will be connected on Tuesday! 42db. rated so, it should be delightfully quiet!
Thanks everyone!

I can't imagine one being quieter than the 300 series. Loudest sounds don't even come from the dishwasher itself but from the gurgling the drain makes because the pump is so powerful and the occasional "clanking" noise when we have dishes or something touching each other as the spray arms shoot the jets under them. As far as actual operational noises I really don't hear anything come from it

Looking forward to that! Next week I’ll let you know.

It’s been a loooooong day of being the idiot on the job site. Plumber got here right about 8:00, made an inventory of what he needed headed back to the shop, got parts and by 9:30 we were going at it. Softener first, due to available space and necessary demands (not doing the outdoor taps, don’t tell me I was wrong, even if I am!) that was a good three and a half hours lots of PEX! Blew down the hot water heater, I get very lazy about that, don’t preach, I know I should be better. Plumber said “at his is pretty old, might start thinking about a new one…when it goes it will just go, don’t worry but, don’t be surprised.” So, that was uplifting.
Lunch,
Just half an hour, then the dishwasher, which was a lot quicker and much less headache than the softener. Cut the two holes, attach the drain line and supply to the unit. Tap the hot water line, run the supply, cut into the drain, run that drain line, and sort out the best way to run all of it. But, by about 4:00, I tapped the checkbook and he was on his way. It was kind of him to tell me that he appreciated my help with helping running and passing things up and down making sure the holes were coming through in reasonable spots for everything to run through. It’s a little loud draining but, the tests have all been just fine!
Many thanks folks for all the ideas, suggestions, and warnings!
Its in, it’s all paid for and now I just need to dirty a LOT of dishes! Three levels, no waiting!👍

Unequivocally not softening exterior water is the right thing to do. You're not applying excess sodium, and you're not wasting your ion column.

We replaced our water heater in June (tankless replacement.) The old heater was 30 years old (original to the house,) and it was far heavier than it should have been due to the sediment. For anybody who's considering a tankless, think strongly about a sediment filter in front of it.

Is that if you have hard water or a basic SOP for all water types?

I can't believe anyone got 30 years out of a water heater. My tank heaters were lucky to get 7 years! Though my tankless I installed in 2005 is still going strong. I'm almost scared and actually thinking about replacing it prophelatically

SOP? I have a softener (excluding exterior hose bibs and the kitchen cold water,) and a completely separate sediment/particulate filter. What I bought was supposed to be a 30,000 gallon or 6 month life filter. Thus far, in the little over 4 months since installation (less than 2,500 gallons,) it's gone from pure white to rather darker than cardboard. Tankless heaters have a maze of twisty little passages (all alike......) and I don't even want to think about what a replacement burner assembly would cost. Less than $50/year gets awfully cheap.

standard operating procedure = SOP

This old “State” was in when we bought the place, 32 years ago and it does not owe me a dime! Bradford White heaters were made about thirty five miles away from me but, they shut down a few years ago. There are other available products and I will cross that bridge when the gun is put to my head.

Well, I finally felt like I had enough in ”Heironymos“ (a friend named it) to justify running a load I wanted to be awake just to listen for anything sounding “Wonkey”. So, I touched off the fuse about 06:00 along with the coffee maker a few minutes later and went into the LR maybe 20’ away. All of a sudden, I hear the sound of water dripping, OH, Chicken Lips!! Off the loafing chair like a bullet and realize two steps in that it was the coffeepot! All I could do was laugh. Then while pouring my first cup, I broke wind and indeed I DO fart louder than 42Db!
Thanks for all the help making a good choice folks! And it’s ready in time for the Holiday feasting!!!
