Beef tenderloin for the fat guy on a diet...

37lbs down, lots to go. I'm not starving myself but just making better choices, smaller portions, less bread and pasta. I was craving some beef so picked up a couple of nice 12oz tenderloins. Prepped em with some rub (mix of Blues Hog and some personal favourites)

So damn good and my beef cravings have been satisfied for a week or two.

Anyone trying to lose weight I HIGHLY reccommend a site called myfitnesspal. Its an amazing way to track what you eat and the best weight loss tool I have every found.

I'm almost 70 pounds down from peak, and yeah, there's a lot to be said for tenderloin. I cook them basically the same way I would a New York steak, but often I go lighter on the rub since they're thinner and also I don't want to overwhelm them. If you're cutting them up yourself it's nice to make some little roasts - maybe a 4" long chunk of muscle - those are really good, too.
 
Great looking plate. Fitness pal works good I use it also. Except I screw it all up on the weekends. 😃
 
Great looking meal, I lost 12lbs by cutting back the amount of beers I drank, next is cutting back on bread and pasta. I may have to get around to exercising though.
 
Christopher I'm sorry but I could never lose weight with a meal like this. I could eat twice that much three times a day. Absolutely wonderful!

That's a pretty tasty way to lose weight. You could put Jenny Craig, Nutrasystem, Weight Watchers, etc. all out of business.
 
Man that looks tasty! I just had bariatric surgery on 10/5. Makin' good choices is what it's all about...easier said than done though.
 
Great looking meal and congrats on your weight loss! Not sure I could go that long without beef though...that would be a deal breaker!

I'd EET that ENTIRE plate and probably look for more!
