Haven't been able to bbq since Mother's Day. Still working on the weeds and fire control on our property up here. Came down to the Bay Area for a couple of days and dragged along my JJ and a 22 1/2. Very simple cook. Decided to go with Bacon Portabello Cheesburgers. I've seen a lot of great burgers lately and it just sounded good. Here are a few pic's.

Got my ingredients ready to go. Got some nice deli sliced Havarti Cheese, two monster portabellos, some 80/20 ground chuck, and some nice Romaine lettuce. Found some very nice Seeded Sandwich Rolls at Safeway.

Got the bacon going on my CI Griddle.

Got the patties and the portabellos going for about an eight minute cook.

Got the Havarti on the patties and gave the buns a little toast.

Burgers all made, ready for the lettuce.

Plated and ready to eat. The burgers were so big, that was all we had. No sides, didn't need any. Sorry about the slight blur on this pic.

Well, that's it. These cheeseburgers were absolutely delicious! I was going to take a picture of them cut in half, but when I made the cut, the patty went one direction and the mushroom went the other. Decided to quit while I was ahead and served and chowed down. Thanks for looking.

Yeah I could see why there was no need for any sides with those monsters! Sure look good nicely done Cliff.

Were those both of those for you, Cliff? That's a hearty appetite!
When we grill Portobellos, we usually skip the meat step...
