Anyone else scared to death right now?

Can't add much to what's been said. Barb and I both sat and watched the events unfold, both of us were dismayed at what we were seeing.
I'm not scared for us, I'm scared as to what kind of world my kids and grandkids will live in and what our world enemy's will try to do to take advantage of this horrible situation we are in now.
Hopefully when the current administration is gone things will calm down...Maybe.

A sad day really? Come on people wake up. Its been a sad, sad 4 years.
This has all been going on & on for much too long. Yet, people tolerated it.
And this is what it has lead to, You reap what you sow.
So true, so very painfully true.

I was sickened and saddened. Without getting into the politics of it, I'll just say that social media is a lot of what has gotten us here. People have been pushed to political extremes. I'm a moderate and I see validity in different perspectives. You can't have both sides completely convinced that if the other side won the election, that America as we know it would end. I hope and pray that we as a nation can overcome this. I'm going to leave it at that. I don't want to see a political debate on this forum that I see as a refuge from that nonsense. I still go on Facebook because I enjoy seeing what's on in the lives of friends and family, but it's gotten to the point I have unfollow half of them and it defeats the whole purpose. It's just sad.

I started to actually get scared in 2020 with the riots and violence - it spun out of control from its intended purposes (or did it?).

So, let's not suffer from amnesia for what happened in the past - it all feeds into what is happening now with plenty of blame to spread around for a forever of leftovers.

Politics today is more and more like WWI trench warfare.

Time to go plan my weekend cooks - think I'll do a nice pork butt for some pulled pork, drink something cold, and watch a movie.

Cheers! 🍻

Yeah no one would declare me one side or the other. I see validity on both sides and have learned to "learn" from both as well. Until now. Now, it's extreme this or that. No one wants to simply sit, discuss, and compromise. There was a great lesson to be learned from Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neal. Polar opposites but somehow could always find a middle ground.
Again I don't want to veer into a political rant because it's not. Both sides are equally at fault there is no "right/correct" side here. This more than anything worries me the best days of this country are long behind us :(

I'm scared by the total lack of security when anyone with a lick of sense should have known this could happen.

Today we're seeing offices of Congress people that were left unprotected while rioters rooted through sensitive files and computers. Anyone in law enforcement that was surprised by yesterday needs to find a new job.
