Ads on the Discussion Forum: Some Questions & A Request

I'm investigating some issues with ad performance on the discussion forum.

When using the forum, have you ever clicked an advertisement by accident? What kind of device do you use: mobile/smartphone, desktop, or tablet? Do you remember what you were doing when you accidentally clicked on an ad: scrolling the page with your finger, click the back button, etc.?

Here's the request. There's a possibility that one or more members are clicking ads solely to help support the forum, not because they are actually interested in the products or services in the ads. If you're doing this, please stop. It could result in me losing the ability to place ads on pages and losing the resulting revenue.

Of course, if you see an ad that is interesting to you and you truly want to click it to learn more about the product or service, please go ahead and click. That's a valid click and we want those.

I don't recall clicking an ad by accident and for as much as I like you and value this site I've never purposely done so with the intent of offering support; you offer other, more bonafide means of backing your work :).

Probably 98% of my visits here are from my desktop and I do not recall even clicking one on purpose (I typically avoid actions like that). I frequent just a small handful of sites and among those there is one where I accidentally click ads from time-to-time; the page loads and then after several seconds it automatically scrolls several lines. During that pause is when I've unintentionally clicked an ad.
 
I have unwittingly hit a couple of them due to digital malfunction but, I have also clicked on a few intentionally. A tablet can be frustrating when trying to do something quickly, if you look towards Kalamazoo and see that the air is a bit blue, that’s me telling my tablet its pedigree!
 
It may have happed once or twice in error. I never hit ads unless I really am desperate for the information because for the next week everywhere I go that ad appears over and over again, very annoying.
I only use my desktop for the forum.
 
Always laptop, (Linux/Chrome.)

Occasionally, I'll see an ad that catches my eye and click through. Practically never by mistake.
