A Pleasant Surprise for Us

Barb and I were driving through a part of town that we don’t usually go through. I spotted a little Mexican grocery store that in all the years we’ve lived here I didn’t know it existed.
We stopped in to take a look, it was a family run store with Mom, Dad and the adult kids. Really nice people, very helpful.
They had a large meat counter with all kinds of fresh meats and marinated meats, fresh salsas from mild to wild and homemade tortillas and tortilla chips and much more.
We picked up some Carne Asada, some salsa and some of the tortilla chips and tortillas.
Guess what’s for dinner. I got out a recipe out for Crane Asada I got from Tony R back in 2014.
Barb made some Guacamole.
It’s not anything like Tony and Maribel or some of the others make but it was really good and the chips, salsa and tortillas were excellent.
Here’s a couple of pictures.

Have a good one.

Gotta love it when you find a new source for quality meats and can support local family-run businesses at the same time. Tacos look glorious!

You can't go wrong with a meal like that. Love those tacos.
It's always fun to discover another source to feed an avocation.

I want some Rich! Looks delicious. Congrats on the find. Those little places are diamonds in the rough. I wish we had a couple around here!

I absolutely love the Mexican grocery stores here. Usually not much to look at, but the prices and quality are usually wonderful. There's also a little family run middle eastern cafe and grocery in Tempe that has incredible things.

Carne looks good!!!!

Rich until I joined this site I had never heard of Carne Asada. There's a Mexican Meat Market by my house. They have a great selection of everything related to Mexican food. I've made it twice & really liked it. Will make it again & yours looks fantastic
