Today I journeyed back to the WA. Peninsula where so far I've been lucky to pick up some Weber goodies like this early Genesis 2 from a nice Amish young man who also gifted me alot of really nice wood for future slat projects.
So let's start with date stamps and sticker documentation. Bottom of Cookbox has this 1985 date and I'm assuming the one on the lid endcaps is dots for months make them August.
Her She Is:
So there is a variety of things different about this early Genesis 2 compared to my later Genesis 3 that I would like to share because I haven't seen them before and I think this early version has some cool differences besides the obviously wide slats.
The swing table arm is different and the slit in the upper swing table bracket holder is pretty neat because it sits in there securely but can easily be removed.
This drip tray and pan design seems like a better design to me but I'm not complaining either way. I'm so impressed how well designed this is for a first attempt from scratch. Props to Weber.
