When I first curb rescued my work grill, it was missing the folding side table. I looked around to no avail, prior to finding this site.

Then I see it’s what I thought twin posted for sale about an hour and change away. I messaged the guy, he said he’d hold it for a few hours. Text my brother, and he was up for a road trip. So off we went. Wasn’t expecting much for $25, but I knew I’d have the folding table hardware I needed.

When we got there, I was in shock. I don’t think it’s been cooked on more than 25-30 times, or the dude who owned it since new did a crazy clean up after each use...

The grease tray in that will stay with it, but I have one I snagged out of a rot box Genesis 1 on the side of the road. I also stole the black knobs off of it.

Ooh yeah nice 1? I need to check what year my Genesis 3 is I cant remember. It has a regular grease drip tray/pan so I guess newer than your 2

Let me know if you can't save that handle. I'm pretty sure I have some cedar handles ready to go, I know I have a messed up cedar handle on my daily driver. Great start to your restoration thread, I know you'll do that grill proud!

Yeah, it looks pretty bad in the pics. I guess I would at least try to sand down the rest of the wood to save it if I could.

The rest of the wood is excellent luckily.

By that I mean easily restorable.

Only the very early ones were cedar like that grill. Later, they were maple.

That's hard to say. It might look ok, might not. All I can tell you is I have a brand new cedar handle as a back up.
