I have to say that I don’t at all agree. Yes, the firebox is a serious issue, but as @LMichaels noted, I have been fortunate to have found a metal shop that helped me make stainless reinforcement panels.
I am pretty much set about not owning another gas grill to replace my 30 year old Genesis 1000, but if one of the original summit gas grills like the one you restored is available close to home, and not past the point of no return, I will go for it.I have to say that I don’t at all agree. With those in place and a makeover, this is a grill worthy of the Summit name. It makes me happy every time I fire it up! I would have a hard time passing up on a 6-burner.
