    Pork Butt Morale Support

Don't sweat it M, no big deal. Like Kevin said, either leave it alone or boost it up. If it were me I'd open up some vents and let her rip.

    Whole pork loin suggestions?

I have a whole loin (9.5lbs) that I am going to cook as just one of the meats for a large crowd. Unfortunately because of travel and timing I'm going to have to cook the loin on Friday for a Saturday afternoon meal so it will have to be reheated. Does anyone have a killer rub or injection...

    5lb Boston Butt, how long?

6am would be pushing it for me. You could bump up the temps to 275 and probably be OK, but if it were me I'd either get them on at 4am or do an overnighter and let them sit in a cooler for a while when finished. I like to have most everything finished and cleaned up before my guests...

    Q100 propane connection ?

I just got a new Q100 last night and for the most part am very pleased. My only issue is the threads to screw in the 1lb propane tank are very VERY easy to cross thread. I've tried three different tanks and all three are very difficult to get screwed on. I can evenetually fight them on but...

    Adding Charcoal (again)

I have to admit, I no longer do a Minion method any longer for this reason when using K. Unfortunately, for me, K hangs in there the longest and is the most stable when doing very long cooks (although, I'm speaking about last years K formula. Tommorrow will be my first long cook w/ the 2010...

    White Cap replacement

I use the cap off of a 1lb propane tank. Cheap and flimsy...but cheap, since it's trash anyway.

Not A New Topic I Know

I always use water except with poultry here too....and I've even started experimenting with it on poultry since I can't get a good "skin" w/ or w/o water anyway. My logic (and I'm sure some will disagree) is that the water increases the humidity in the cooker and helps keep the meat from...

MEMORIAL DAY BARBECUE - DISCUSSION / ADVICE

The point is, just make sure you give yourself plenty of time. It's MUCH easier to hold your finished product for a few hours than it is to speed things up when you figure out "oops I'm not going to be ready on time". I have quite a few butts under my belt and have always done overnighters...

    First cook for a crowd

Ken, I use a large electric roaster for PP at my parties, it works just fine. You just want it warm, don't get it hot enough to start "cooking" again. Make sure there is plenty of liquid in the roaster so it does not dry out. I usually use a little apple juice or a very runny sauce, but K...

Pete's Second Annual Memorial Day Barbecue Music, Booze and Beer Survey

A little bit down on the right hand side of the page you will see a guy sitting in a chair with headphones on. It's says something like "click here to listen" or something like that. Not sure if you have to load a special player or not (I don't think so though) it's been so long since I've...

    Best of the West lump

Yes, "Product of Mexico". It is very sparky with a few pretty good pops here and there. In the 40lb bag there were at least 3 pieces that were HUGE, I'm talking over a foot long and 4 to 6 inches in diameter. It definitley does get hot, but the review is correct, it does not last long, pops...
