Lid Hook for Original Kettle Premium

I just bought a 22" Original Kettle Premium grill. My fourth Weber product. My old Kettle had a half round hoop to hold the lid, but the Premium grill has a hook. I think this hook will be hard to use and it will scratch the porcelain, leading to rust. Does anybody have a better solution...

    Sone Thoughts

Regarding foiling the water pan, the pan in the new WSM 18.5" is too large to foil with one piece of Heavy Duty foil. Two pieces of foil can be seamed together, but that seam will leak. Ned

    Sone Thoughts

After recently buying a WSM 18.5" and using it a few times, I have the following thoughts. To make cleaning-up easier, it really helps to spray the grate an the inside of the water pan with Pam. Since you can't foil the water pan in the new 18.5' model, spraying it with Pam is a good solution...

What Weber Charcoal Grill to Buy?

Thanks to all of you for the great advice in my decision between a grill without, and one with, an ash catcher!! Most of you said the Gold with the ash catcher is the way to go. I've come to certainly agree. Some suggested the Performer. Now that's a good looking grill, and it has what I'd...

What Weber Charcoal Grill to Buy?

I am in the market for a new stand up style Weber charcoal grill. My question is: Is the enclosed ash collector at the bottom of kettle on the more expensive Weber grill worth the extra money? How useful, really, is it? Thanks a lot! Ned

    Linestone in Kingsford Charcoal

When I recently emptied then ashes in my WSM cooker, I found sand in the ashes. I looked at the Kingsford charcoal MSDS information, and learned the charcoal is up to 15% limestone. Kingsford denied this when I called them. That is, they said the briquets are made only of wood and a binder, no...

    Smoking Whole Chickens

I want to use my new WSM to smoke some whole chickens. However, in researching the archives, it seems direct heat is the preferred method. Can a whole chicken be smoked successfully? Recipes and methods will be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Foiling An 18.5" Water Pan - A Solution

If one sheet of foil won't cover the new 18.5" water pan, and if two sheets won't cover the pan due to a leak in the seam, I reasoned one sheet may cover half of a pan. Divide et ipera (Divide and conquer) - Julius Caesar. I drilled a hole in the top of the water pan, across from the existing...

    Foiling a New 18.5" WSM

Matt: Thanks for your reply. Your description is very good, but I don't think this resolves the problem of getting coverage on the inside of the pan that will result in no water getting under the foil. Permitting no water under the foil is my goal. Ned <BLOCKQUOTE...

    Foiling Water Pan

I'm the proud owner of a new 18.5" cooker, and I want to place foil inside and outside of the water pan. However, Reynold's heavy duty foil (the widest I can find) is just 18" wide. I can put two pieces together for the outside surface of the water pan, but not for the inside. Has anyone figured...
