not getting alot of grill marks.. need help

My advice: 1. Pat your steaks dry before placing on grill (others have said this, but I think it is crucial). 2. Leave your steaks on the grill for at least 2 mins before rotating/flipping - maybe longer. The only way to know what works on your grill is to practice. 3. I know Meathead says...

    Back Ribs Foil Ingredients

I like to use a little butter (not parkay), brown sugar, honey, and some chili pepper jelly. Always gives a nice shine to the ribs, too.

    WSM or Kettle

My recommendation would be to go on the hunt on Craigslist and other sites for a $50 used kettle. I love mine and they are what I use approx 75% of the time regardless if I'm grilling or smoking. I found that by using bricks to help bank the briquettes to one side of the grill I have lots of...

    please help me with brisket

Better luck next time friend, I found it took me a couple of failures before I nailed brisket. For me, I found two crucial things were to foil it when it reached 165 then put back on the grill. Then to start checking for tenderness around 195. Unless the tip of my thermapen is going in and out...

Attitude on Weber Summit Charcoal Grill pricing

My thought is simple: I won't be owning a Weber Charcoal Summit grill for the same reason I won't be owning a Weber Summit Gas grill - they are simply out of my budget. I think the Weber Charcoal Summit is an incredibly well thought out grill with a lot of excellent features. Likewise, I think...

    Rub Suggestions

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Meat Church! Honey Hog is great on pork shoulder and ribs. I even tried it on a cedar plank salmon and it was money! I'm also a big fan of Plowboy's Yardbird on chicken.

    keep or sell?

If you're not using the Q (and don't plan on using it), I'd sell it. If you are using your other grills, leave them well enough alone. If space on the patio is an issue, you could always store them in a shed or garage. You could even store it under the patio. I got my Dad hooked on charcoal...

Smokenator/Slow 'N Sear vs Smokey Joe Mini WSM?

I've been cooking on my Weber OTG & Performer for several years and have had great results. I did purchase a Smokenator when I purchased my OTG but I honestly find that the Smokenator doesn't do anything that banking the coals, or using the "fuse" method doesn't. I've cooked everything from...

Spirit v Weber Q- tolerance to cold & snow

Q 3200 owner checking in from Newfoundland, Canada. I'll give you a minute to Google "Newfoundland" so you can see where I live. Done? Okay, good. So as you can see, I live on a rock that is plunked in the North Atlantic off the coast of North America. No one has a harsher winter than we do...

$7 Kijiji Q - too good to be true?

I make it a habit of searching Kijiji about once a month for all things Weber and came across this gem today: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-bbq-outdoor-cooking/st-johns/brand-weber/1114781013 I wonder what the heck happened to it? More importantly, did the seller ever get $7 for it? Even more...

Anyone using a Smokenator & Craycort Cast Iron Grates?

Like the thread title says, I'm wondering what people's experiences have been using a Smokenator with Craycorts Cast Iron Grates? I use the Smokenator on a regular basis on my 22.5 OTG, and I'm seriously considering putting the Craycort grates on my Christmas list for Santa next year (I know...

    Is the Smokenator worth it?

I have a love/hate relationship with my Smokenator. I find it is great for short smokes (3 hours and less), but can be a pain on longer cooks. It is simple to use though.

    Q 3200 ?

Just turn your perimeter burner on low and leave your center grill off with the steaks in the center for indirect cooking. Works for me.

    Indirect and smoke

What he said. I use BBQrs Delight pellets in a tinfoil pouch on the hot part of the grill, put the food in the center with that burner turned off.

    rubs ???

Awesome Sean! I've used all of Big Poppas's rubs, and you can't go wrong! I always put the rubs on before I cook. The Happy Ending rub works best with Money Rub and I put it on 10 minute's before I take my food off the pit. Little Louies has become my secret weapon in the kitchen, I put it on...

    Cover for Q3200?

Thanks for the heads up. I was checking out the Q3200 at home depot yesterday, and you're right, the warming rack is useless. IMO it's only there to increase total sq in & price. The last bit of snow finally melted in my back yard yesterday! Still lots around though.
