    Slammin Hot Smoked Salmon

This is a cook from last week, one I'll be making again soon. Started out by marinating some small potatoes with EVOO, Gahlic and Mrs. Dash seasoning and getting them onto a veggie grilling pan. And made myself a little cocktail while I was at it. There's something deliciously wrong about...

Epic Back Rib and Spatchcock Chicken cook - happening now

Thanks everybody for your kind comments, I appreciate them all. Considering you live closer to me than most of the people on tvwbb we should make this happen this summer! Tired hero of the day :) I prepped everything the night before and was still going from about 9am until I served the...

Epic Back Rib and Spatchcock Chicken cook - happening now

Okay, here's the rest of the pictures. Started out with some mussels in Pernod cream sauce. Cooked these on my Red 22 in a cast iron skillet, but the cook moves so fast there were no action pics. This was 12lbs of them and they went fast! As soon as those were done I got 3 spatchcocked...

Epic Back Rib and Spatchcock Chicken cook - happening now

I keep forgetting I have that 22" in the garage Jim...those racks would have fit on the 18. I think I need to disassemble the 18 and bury it.

Epic Back Rib and Spatchcock Chicken cook - happening now

I'm going to update this throughout the day as I progress, doing my annual cook for the family while my brother is in town from NYC. Finally got the backyard 100% finished yesterday. We went from a small deck with 4 feet of grass to a pretty good sized space, but it wasn't easy. I'll spare...

All sorts of Shecone action going on up here...

I thought about getting a 26, but they are hard to come by used for reasonable prices (I've never seen one on CL since 2011) and 2 x 22 = 48" :) I shoulda used a second grill, but I was too lazy to fire it up...

All sorts of Shecone action going on up here...

I've been doing some chicken cooks lately. I can't seem to get enough of the wings and the legs. --------------------- Wing Fling Started out with a modified OM-Sriracha sauce - marmalade, golden mustard, sambal olek garlic chili sauce and a bit of apple butter bbq sauce. Put my wings in...

    Grilled Bird

Meh, you're an okay cook Jim...I guess I'd eat some of that if I had to :) In all honesty, I think the chicken quarter is one of the most underrated cuts of yard bird. If everyone in the world could cook as well as Lampe does the price would go through the roof!

    Skewed Skewers

I did this cook last weekend, but I'm just getting time to post it tonight... Really simple, but quite good, will be making this again. Started some shrimp off in sesame oil, Penzeys Mural of Flavor and a bit of the Salt Lick dry rub for kick. I also got out some pork skewers we bought at...

Performer grill for sale, what is it worth?

I posted a looking for ad when I was after my performer...a nice senior citizen who had purchased one new and failed miserably cooking on it a few times was trying to figure out what to sell it for and came across my ad. He told me he'd used it 5 times and asked me to make an offer I thought...

    Cleaning performer side table?

Awesome, I'll give it a try tomorrow if the weather dips below 100 here in Canada. We had snow on the ground in the beginning of May and I got heat stroke working on my deck yesterday...guess it's a good time to do an easy off treatment on the inside at the same time :)

    Cleaning performer side table?

My performer side table is pretty stained and weather worn. Any good tips on how to bring it back to life? I've tried using soapy water and lysol wipes with no luck. The search feature doesn't bring up that many results, but I swear I saw something a few years ago on how to clean them up.

    Brats / Mushrooms / Burritos

Mildo, those burritos look amazing! I've don't the same type of wrap, but never grilled them like that...I'm going to try them next time.

Steaks and Sides on the Porch

Those bad boys were $5.99/lb so I got two big uns, my wife and I both ate half of each steak and then kept the rest for wraps the next day...

Steaks and Sides on the Porch

I made me a little dinner on the Smokey Joe on the front porch again since our backyard isn't quite ready to go. I'm surprised by how hot this little bad boy can get with just one Weber Mini Chimney of briquettes in it. No thermometer, but there was definite color change going on here. I...
