Hot Water Heater: Repair or Replace?

Agree with Bob - any other appliances in the house that are natural gas ? Also around 7 -10 years is the life of a water heater. Up here in Vancouver BC when you renew your house insurance if your water heater is 10 years old they tell you to get it replaced.

    Webber one touch premium lid

Congrats on the new premium, to answer your question, Yes it is normal for smoke to leak out around the lid base and thermometer when it is new , once you have used it a few times you will notice a build up of gunk around the edges and lid , some of us call it seasoning, then the leakage will...

What is a Weber "Compact Kettle Charcoal Grill"??

I have one, picked it up at a yard sale a while back. It does not get very hot,as there is only one vent on the bottom like a SJS and the vent plugs up. These are usually sold only in europe, the guy I bought mine from brought it over with him. I only use to set my chimney on, IMO it is not...

OTS Ash Pan - How do you guys get them clean?

First I use some degreaser with steel wool '0000', then if it still needs more - usually steel wool with degreaser will clean it up good - but if it needs more I use CLR for aluminum / steel with steel wool. I have had very good results. and for the legs I use mothers mag / aluminum polish

Never thought I'd see the day...

Nice story Chris - when I wanted to buy my WSM here in Canada in 2009 I had to order online because the specialty bbq stores here in BC were way over priced, and like you said today the local HD and Lowes now have them on the shelf.

My free kettle pick up today

Yeah thats worth it, you can get a new ash sweep for about $ 15 - 20, cut the old one off with a grinder, get some oven cleaner , steel wool 0000, and a lot of elbow grease and you will be amazed at how clean it will turn out.

    Newbie question

Welcome to the forum Paul, if you didn't open the box take it back - you don't need a smoker box for a charcoal grill just put the smoke wood directly on the coals, but dont use too much as you can easily over power your food especialy chicken -
