You can always use a wood dye as well (different than a stain). Then you can add a tint of whatever color you want to the finish. Transtint is one I have used on some woodworking I’ve done.

Thanks! I am finishing up an end cap now and will update before too long. The right swing up table was chewed on by something and in bad shape. It would barely stay on the grill long enough to get that picture :).

If you can find someone to bead blast or sand blast the firebox, it keeps a great texture and is very easy to paint. It can be a bit pricier, maybe $50 for a box and end caps. It really makes the inside look fantastic, at least till the first cook :)
