What kind of wood?

I went a local orchard and got a box of wood for $5.00

I asked what kind of wood and they said it was a mix of peach and plum.
Can someone tell me which is plum and which is peach please?

I agree with Russell, doubt you can tell any difference in the smoke.
I do think that peach has more defined bark rings though.

This is probably not going to help much. I went out into the yard and took photos of the peach trees and plum trees. I have both in the yard. I guess the peach looks more "barky". When I cut limbs from it the wood is orange color - like a peach. The small limbs on the plum is kinda smooth. They make great smoke wood.

I did a test run and the plum smoke was pleasant. My wife like it. We are doing chicken tomorrow so I'm using it tomorrow.

I agree, never had peach but I have used plum...and it was smooth.
