What is this thingy

Can someone tell me what this is and what its purpose is? I have seen it on almost all of these cabinet style grills.

I understand it is a match holder, for when your igniters do not work.

I thought it was for clearing spider webs out of the burner tubes.

My wife would probably call it a an Eye Lash Curler.

If you look at the front of your grill there should be a hole at the burner level, that's where you would put the match through to lite the burners if your ignitor wasn't working

My grill has one too. Never had the need to use it.
