Weber Skyline Restored

If you are finding good stuff on CL, you must be in a prime area. I picked up at least two dozen grills last summer and don't think I found one off CL. Maybe one, but I don't recall for sure.

School me on the “Weber Fade”.
It's where the black porcelain on the lids and control panels fades to white, looks cloudy, or has a million white speckles in the finish, often both. I have a Skyline grill that I gave away the lid because it was faded. It doesn't bother some people that much but it's a no go for me.

I think the “fade” happens when they are left bare over a period of a few years through severe winters. You cannot “fix” it after it happens, just cover in the worst seasons and enjoy it until you pass it along to the next owner.

It’s a little bit like a Patek Phillipe watch…
“We do not “own” these, we are merely caretakers for the next generation.”
Get it standing tall and instill a little respect for a child or grand child and it will last another generation!
