Weber Parts Deals

Here's another part that will be NLA soon enough, the Weber logo lid badge. I came across a guy on Facebook today that said Weber didn't stock them anymore after calling them. You can still get them third party for now, and it doesn't matter much to those of us that restore them instead of buying a new one.Screenshot_20250819-135140.png

I have had marginal luck buying the “used - like new” ones off amazon. But those Uniflasy ones are pretty nice. I got a couple of the Garnetin ones with tray and pan, sub $40 off Amazon that aren’t bad. But they aren’t as shiny as Uniflasy.

I guess less than $40 for both pieces you can't complain. You're just putting them on a flip grill anyway so good enough. I did buy a genuine #99250 for my keeper Genesis Gold C, but an aftermarket little grease tray since you can't tell the difference on those.

Nope. But it’s difficult deciding which ones get new pieces and decent pieces. It’s hard to figure out which you put those type of new pieces in. Where you’ll get the return on. Hell the last gold I sold had a new drip pan and holder with a “meh” grease tray. And the buyer didn’t care at all about the new stuff. Just that he’d be putting it in an Air BnB “up north” so he doesn’t have to replace it every two-three years.

Then he messaged me and said he’s keeping this one at home and taking his similar model Weber up there.

I have had similar regrets. I've put brand new parts on grills when it turned out I didn't need to. We assume that our customers are like us and most of them really aren't. I do however pride myself on how little I can spend to refurbish a grill and still make a really good profit, so I guess it all evens out. I don't put a price on my time because it was my free time anyways but the extra time I spend refurbishing grates, flavorizer bars, wheels, thermoset tables, lids, thermometers, etc. pays off most of the time. I know you, Bruce, Josh, and others do the same things.

I am amazed at how many of my buyers come for a grill and don't even care for me to light it.

LOL, when I sold my pellet smoker I sold it to the owner of a local fab / repair shop for the workers to use for lunches. The guy that came to pick it up was about to load it into his truck when I asked him if he wanted to see it powered on and running.

He paused for a sec and said yeah that's probably a good idea.

I try to document in pictures as much as possible all the attention to details to justify the selling price and it always blows me away how surprised some buyers are that the grill is fully restored and like new. Like they don't read the description or look at the pictures at all. I shouldn't be surprised. It's always nice to have excited happy customers.
