Yah, pretty expensive stuff and the shipping cost is hard to accept. But, I figure that if it can bring back a few of those very marginal black lids with a little fade, then it will be well worth it.

I have tried this stuff with some pretty impressive results. I am not saying it will bring back a badly faded hood, but it did wonders on my mildly faded Skyline hood. I think it is definitely worth a try on your Platinum (and future projects):

Jon, have you tried it on a control panel? I wonder if it would take the chalky look off my blackstone, that never looked bad until I washed it with dawn powerwash. Turned it from deep and shiny black, to chalky looking dark gray.

I will be very interested to see what you guys think about this product. Yes, the cost with shipping is way too high, but as Bruce said, if it saves a few marginal lids it is worth it.

Jon, have you tried it on a control panel?

Not on a prime candidate. Hopefully very soon I will take on some new grill work. I will pull out a borderline control panel and do before and after pics.
