That was a good test of Darwin's theory.Yes, because that someone that tried it was a idiot.
The Genesis 1 deserves a new one alsoYou can use the removed regulator on your next grill.
Those old Genesis Platinums are great grills. I had been looking for years for a descent one and finally found one. I had to converted it from NG to LP no other modifications just complete restoration "Pictured before restoration" one of my favorite grill and I have lots of weber gas and charcoal grills including a "Summit Platinum D6 fully restored". I really like the idea of converting it to the 13 flavorizer bar cookbox. I never measured the cook boxes so I'm not sure if t will fit the Genesis Platinum. The 13 bar boxes are deeper and in my opinion the best cook box of the Genesis series. I hope it fits for you with no mods. If you don't already have a 13 bar box Just be careful with the box you choose and check for warping from over heating I've seen plenty of them warped out of shape. Pictured is my "Genesis 3000", 13 bar grill fully restored, one of my best cooking grills. This was my first brand new Weber grill and will never part with it. Good luck with the restoration and modifications looking forward to seeing your future posts.Bruce, this will take forever
4 big caster wheels.
Possibly a 13 flavorizer bar cookbox.
The best flavorizer bars and grill grates.
Remove bottom tray and all panels and both doors.
High heat powdercoating the cookbox and lid sides.
Might change the lid
2-30 pound propane tanks, one on each end.
Some kinda rack on the bottom, still undecided.
I'm sure there's more
Thanks that's very helpful. That is a nice stable of grills Albert. Dropping in a 13 bar cookbox on the SS Platinum Genesis frame does require modifications to the frame.
