Weber gas grill parts source.

Kyle, I hadn't thought of that before and it probably does go on. I guess a guy should really dig into the most recent reviews to make sure they match. However, in the case of the cooking grates, I don't think that is the problem. The problem is selling three different versions of the same product under one listing which gives you reviews that don't always reflect the particular version of the product you are interested in.

Also, those grates are being sold directly by Amazon and not a third party so I would think that would alleviate any of that kind of fraud. Also, you still have the 30 day free returns policy if they are not as advertised.

Amazon does have some sort of limit on how many items you can return, ask me how I know! I buy A LOT of stuff on Amazon each month. A few years ago when I was living in my old house, I purchased a lot of things to make repairs to my house. I used to buy multiple parts for a certain project not knowing which would be the one I needed, then return the part(s) I didn't need. Well after a while, Amazon stopped letting me return items unless they sent the wrong item or if it was defective.

So if you're just buying and returning a few items here and there, you'll have no problems...just know they keep an eye on how much you're returning.

Kyle, thanks for the heads up on that. I rarely return stuff unless it is either wrong or broken or whatever.

Yeah only time I return anything is if it's damaged or defective. Or if it's clothing and it's part of that Amazon Apparel thing they let you return as much as you want. I think they call it free try on

A couple weeks ago Bruce brought it to my attention one of the links was no longer working. It's not really a surprise since things come and go, but it could be a problem as this thread ages. If you are browsing and find broken links please let me (or Chris) know. I'll fix, replace, or remove them as I find out about it.

Also, if new sources become available for parts accessories and tools I'll be happy to add them when I have time. Again, just let me know.

Yes, please don't hesitate to click "Start Conversation" and send me any updates if you can't get hold of Jason. Recently there was a glitch in the job that tags Amazon links with the forum affiliate link and I think those links broke. But that's been fixed.

I'm not sure what size they are, but maybe we could add the correct size of this push nut to the main post?
It's the push nut that holds on the Weber logo badge.

It is a Pushnut Bolt Retainer. Size #10 is used to hold the Weber Emblem to lid.

Thanks, I'll have to stop by Ace. The Home Depot near me didn't have those, only something called a speed nut and it's not working on the badge....correct hole size, but you can't push anything through it....think the speed nuts are meant for threads

Kyle.
My local HD & Lowes don't stock them as well but the small Mom & Pop "Real" Hardware stores have Hillman brand hardware have them available. If you search proves unsuccessful let me know and I'll mail you some.

I use Red High Temp RTV silicone to hold the badges on my rehabs. It works quick and easy.
Yeah, you have to break those retainers to get them off, and I worry about gouging up the lid or busting off the casting stud.

Great Thread.
I just received my thread cutting nuts for my Silver A, and lid mounting hardware for my "Genny" 1000 thanks to this thread.
Awesome source for parts!

Beginning to take apart a 1999 1000 (at least the serial on weber's site says 1000 but it has the side burner so assuming it's a 3000). That will be a first timer post for me shortly, but I was looking here for lid/handle bolt ideas and i didn't want to go the hex socket route I've seen but still wanted to replace with stainless.

Sincere apologies if this has been covered, but I could not find anything regarding this part in my brief searches.

I think these are the proper substitute. Called a 'press fit stud'. The OEM bolt has those nubs on it too, maybe at one point they were meant to grip into the aluminum. 18-8 is fine with me.

I kept thinking all along that McMaster Carr must have it, no way would Weber source a custom fastener. I suppose I'll use these with 1/4-20 316 flange nuts.

Am I missing something here?

Cheers, Chris

Chris, that is great if they are direct replacements. Let us know how they work when you get them.
Welcome to TVWBB.

Will do. I wish there was McMaster Prime with free shipping! I just did a parts shipment from them 2 days ago, ugh. 3/4 and 1-1/2 are the sizes to order (1-9/16 measured, you'll be fine). I have 2 grills, one spirit 700 that was beyond beat up and this garage kept 1000. Both never had any failure in these OEM bolts, just surface rust that never got deep. Then again, I'm a maniac like the rest.

Bolts came in. Unfortunately heads are too small of a diameter. Would look goofy I think. Tough to get a pic that shows it well but pretty significant difference 557D3E47-B673-485F-9DC3-9F20F0BEE9E3.jpeg

Chris, I had the same problem when I restored my 1000 last year. All the hardware on the grill was stainless except the handle mounting bolts. I attacked the bolts with a dremel mounted wire brush and sandpaper. Once they were shiny, I hit them with hi-temp clear coat. It's not stainless, but it's better than it was.
