Since summer is rapidly retreating, we will soon be indoors watching TV. Post and good shows on the streaming services or network TV for us to try. Personally I have enjoyed the Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer adaptations of the Michael Connelly books.

My son in law introduced me to the Star Trek prequel called Strange New Worlds on Paramount Plus. I've not sat through too much of it yet being we still have nice weather plus my business has kept me away from TV

1. Gangs of London
2. Animal Kingdom
3. The Gilded Age
4. Love Is Blind

There are multiple seasons of all of these. #1 especially and #2 are not for the faint of heart. #3 takes place in NY in 1883 and AFAIK is historically accurate. #4 is where couples commit to be married sight unseen after several conversations.

What streaming services do you have now and are you willing to subscribe to ones you don't have?

Or, are you looking for shows on free apps like Pluto or Roku?

I have Amazon Prime and Netflix. Probably do not need more subscriptions. Have had others and most of the new stuff is just not that good.

Longmire is a GREAT series. I may watch it again. One of the later things from the now late Graham Greene the gifted first nation actor from Canada. He passed away a couple days ago. BTW Longmore is a Netflix series so I am sure it will still be there. Another one I love is Lillehammer. You have to be a fan of the Sopranos to really "get it". But it is a great series. May rewatch that one too. and of course there is the Sopranos if you can find it or if you have the DVDs.

I just checked Netflix on Longmire and it seems it is 'gone' - that's why I listed PlutoTV ("free" with commercials).

Some good series but.

Manifest (Netflix)
Poldark (PBS Subscription, AppleTV, Fandango)
Gotham (HBOmax, AppleTV, Fandango)
Bates Motel (Amazon Prime)
The Americans (Disney+, AppleTV, Hulu)
The Following (AppleTV, Plex, Fandango)
Justified (Disney+, AppleTV, Hulu)
Vikings (Netflix)
The 100 (Netflix)
Black Sails (Spectrum, Netflix, Roku Channel)
24 (Disney+, AppleTV, Hulu)

The sad thing is really good shows are all over the map for channels and apps which can run up the bill.

We discovered that we quite enjoyed the 10 episode series _Nautilus_. Yes, it takes great liberties with the source material, get over it, it's a pretty well done production.

If you're a SciFi type, _The Expanse_ was good. _Foundation_....... again, liberties taken with the source material, but appears to be pretty well done.

I have read all the books for both. Bosch combines a few books into the season while the Lincoln Lawyer is more true to a single book. Both pretty much nailed the characters. The early seasons were on Prime as Bosch while the later were called Bosch:Legacy on Freevee.

In addition, the spin off Ballard is decent too but wrote Bosch out more than in the books.

Paramount + is having a half-price sale for an annual subscription, good until 9/18 (I think):

Some/most/all of the various subscriptions have no sign-up fees or contracts, which makes it easy to sign up for a few months, watch what you like, then move on to the next service. Also, watch for Black Friday deals...for example, the past couple of years, Hulu has been offered for $1.99/month for a 12-mo. subscription (but probably not this year, since Hulu got rolled up into Disney+).
