Unknown Treasures

You may have seen the posts I put up with the books and newsletters that I recently found at my Grandma's. Well I just found out that they have what my Grandma calls "a couple of old Weber grills and barbecue things" in the workshop out in the yard. My Grandpa has been trying to find the keys, he says the workshop hasn't been opened in 10 years! He doesn't want me to cut the lock. I am beside myself with curiosity to see what they have out there. Grandma says I can have whatever it is. I just have to get it home from Illinois to California. I will be visiting them again in a few weeks.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? If so, do you have any pics of the barn finds that you found?

Hi Tom,
That's Kewl !!! A thought just crossed my mind... what if... Naw, let me rephrase that... What If the shed contained a WSM ;)
Wishing you and yours the very best.

Bob

"Gee Grandpa, looks like someone tried to break in. They must have been scared off before they could steal anything."

i don't get it. you go through all this for a cheap lock ? you couldn't afford a lock ?
thats what drives me nuts. don't get me wrong as i hate destroying things also but yer situation
is a bit differant. yes, you have a right to do what you want but now you included us in yer pain !

It's called something that has been lost on this generation. Respect for your elders. If my Grandpa doesn't want to cut the lock, no matter cheap or not, I won't cut the lock. I will wait patiently till he finds the key, (and he will), then I will be pleasantly surprised. I love and respect my Grandparents, even with all their little quirks.

That's cool Tom. I hope you find a treasure when those doors are opened. Sounds like you already have.

Your a good man Tom!! Patience is golden!!

Good luck!

I am glad to see how much respect you have for your grandparents. Since my first grandchild is just 6 months away, due in January, I hope he/she will show me as much respect. Not that I have any quirks, other than grilling and smoking.
Good luck on the surprises.

Mike

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying to not respect them. just seems a lot for just a lock. thats it. nothing hidden in the statement. i've got locks ive had for 30 years, but they have no sentimental value. again, it wasn't ment to disrespect anyone.
