Two big butts

I occasionally see people referring to pork butts weighing 5-6 pounds, but I have never cooked such a small one myself. Right now, I have two butts rubbed* and wrapped, to be cooked tonight, and together they weigh over 19 lbs. Are these small butts what's left after the store cuts off the best part for "country style ribs", or are some pigs just that much smaller when butchered?

*With WRB - if you don't know what that is, you should!

Larry IMO they're average to large size. I usually do 8 to 9lb butts (two at a time). I see the smaller butts but they tend to be more expensive here vs. buying the cryo pack with two in it. Timing etc. with 8 - 9 lb butts works well for me.

I recently did a two 13 lb butt cook, these babies were monsters! Here are some PICTURES. As frame of reference, that top grate is an 18 1/2" grate.

Suddenly my 9-pounders don't look all that impressive.

I've been reading these forums for 8 or 9 months now, and I can't believe this is the first time I've heard that reference.
