I'll be posting throughout the day on my cooks. I have mine on the wsm and a friends on the rotisserie. I'll start with mine. Did the apple turkey brine this year.

Used a home rub without salt, but ran out so I finished off with a little "Butt Rub"

Now for my friends on the roto! I used a garlic and herb rub from this site, the same one I used on my pork loin rotisserie cook.

On both these birds I'm making meatheads gravy from amazingribs.com also both have been injected with butter and onion and garlic powder.

Good looking birds. How did you get that bad of a burn with welding gloves?
I started two chimneys at one time on the charcoal grate of my wsm. My finger was just touching the metal part above the handle as my son was slowly putting the charcoal ring in place.

Those birds look awesome...just got one on the smoker and one will go underneath in an hour or so!!staggered dinners today!

Okay, after 3hrs the bird on the rotisserie is done!

Looks great. So which one did you like better?
I've got to say the rotisserie turkey was the winner out of the two. The one on the wsm was very good and moist, but that garlic and herb rub, and the roto action was top notch!

I had a feeling you might say that. I just bought the Weber rotisserie for my Performer, and my first cook was today's turkey which was a big hit. I didn't cook a turkey on the WSM today, but I've done them before and the family appears to prefer the rotisserie version.
