Smoked on the BGE using JD Lump with a handful of Pecan chips tossed on the coals. Dome temp about 210 Grate temp was around 180 to 190. I didn't bother setting up the billows for a short cook. I pulled this when the narrow part of the tri tip was 120F internal.

Went over to a friends and reverse seared it on an E310.

I think it could have gone a few minutes longer on the sear. The time from it coming off the smoker to starting to sear it was about 30 mins and I'm guessing it cooled off a bit. It felt done but I did not temp check it after the sear or I might have let it go a little more. It was still tasty though a tad more rare than expected.
