Top Gun Maverick

Just got home from the IMAX. If you had any enjoyment from the original, go see it on the biggest screen you can find.

I'm not a movie person, either at home or in the theatre, but I can see where the size of the screen would be an important part of this movie.

With today's large screen TV's you can get nearly the same relational size for just a few hundred $$$. Add in a decent sound system or bar and things are good. Plus you can stop and go to the bathroom, get your own snacks, and not put up with rude people who talk over the film, play with their phones or what have you. And if you smell something weird in your own home, you can blame the dog/cat, wife/husband or the kids :D

Yea, ordinarily I'm not one to goto the moves either - people are just @$$#®££$ in the theater. Last movie I saw in a theater was "Bohemian Rhapsody". Before that - "Cars" lol.
But this one (& maybe the new Jurassic Park) need to be seen on a big screen.

The audience where we saw it was awfully well behaved. Then again, IMAX commands a fairly premium price, and does seem to limit unpleasantness. In general, IMAX and IMAX 3D screenings seem to have a more controlled audience.

We were planning on seeing it this weekend but got tied up planting the garden, flowers, fishing and smoking ribs. Maybe next weekend. We doing go to the movies very often but this one I want to see on the big screen. Theaters have just gotten to expensive.

Saw it Thursday night at a theater here that has wait service for food and drinks. It was amazing. Tonight I'm going to see it in the IMAX theater. It was shot in IMAX so in my mind this is the movie that is truly required to be seen in an IMAX theater. I'm setting the over/under on how many times I see this movie in the theater at 10.

Shame people have to ruin experiences so badly for others the desire to do them goes away completely. Chicago for example gotten so bad I doubt I will ever go to any events there again. As much as I love Cubs and Sox I'm done

For all of these reasons and more, I make sure to have the latest movies in my collection. I have thousands of movies. So many, in fact, that I keep them in their own climate controlled facility, and employ a full staff to manage them all. My local Public library.

It’s the people with phones on that drove me away from theaters. I’m not going to pay $20+ a ticket to have a miserable experience.

I can't even begin to count the number of things that drove me away. Phones, just general loud talking, REALLY smelly people, I could go on. What's the point? In today's world people are disgustingly rude and self centered. Just look at a parking lot to see what I mean.
