I think I see an opportunity here! Surely your wife would approve of you having a better grill? You could take your existing grill, disassemble it, and make it disappear. Say you are parting it out to forum members or whatever to fund your great deal on a super fancy grill to impress her friends.

After a fashion, you could start making noises about meaning to put back together the grill you are rebuilding.
