The fail

So it’s hotter than hot right now which means we don’t use the oven in the house. Really wanted to have a spicy grilled chicken sandwich but we needed buns. So I thought I’ll just bake them on the BabyQ. Well I wasn’t paying attention and I didn’t initially put a buffer between the grate and the buns… needless to say things got a bit crispy! We were able to salvage a few of the tops though and the meal was saved. Next time, I have some ideas to avoid the burnt bun bottom!

Marinated the chicken in Greek yogurt, gochujang sauce, minced garlic, white pepper, gilders mustard, cracked black pepper, lime juice.

Made a Sriracha aioli to go on the bun.

The Q definitely a little tricky with indirect cooking. But nice save. I would just cut off the bottom 1/4" Looks great. Now I'm hungry.

Been there done that, but a great save in the end. Looks fantastic.
Know the feeling about the heat, going on day twelve in a row with temps over 100.
