Thanksgiving: One Legged Breast

Since it was a small gathering for us this year - just four of us - I did a turkey breast and one good sized leg.

Brined the turkey in a prepackaged mix my folks gave me a while back. Salt, orange, juniper and other spices etc. Took just over two hours on the WSM pushing 300 - 350. Was tasty and very moist.

BTW: It was a beautiful day. If hadn't been for the wind, we might of sat outside for dinner. Changed dramatically over night and got pretty chilly Friday.

Sounds like your weather was the same as southeastern Wisconsin's...

Nice breast. I liked the idea of adding a leg. I did a breast too. Didn't think of adding a leg. Well done.

Nice lookin turkey, I am curious do you get a smoke ring on a brined turkey ??

Here's some sliced for sandwiches - no ring here:

I don't know that it's a characteristic of brined birds.

Thanks for all the comments folks!
