Harris Teeter will randomly put porterhouse steaks on sale for 6.99 a pound. It is an insane deal. I got a 2 pounder for 14.26.

I grilled up that 2lb porterhouse, some veggies and some shrimp marinated in soy, honey, garlic, ginger and lime.

Finished with a pat of my homemade basil butter as always.

I cut the strip and the filet off the bone and then cut them in half so we each got the same cuts. Thankfully she didn't finish but one piece! Lunch time snack tomorrow.

Dude...I KNOW that was a good dinner. Isn't it cool how you can cook a better meal at home for about 1/4 the cost of eating out?!?!?!?!

x2. I was thinking the same on way home from work today. Wish I had more time during the week.

Awesome looking cook and I hit that HT sale often.

Who in the heck is Harris Tweeter and why doesn't he live near me? Great lookin' meal!
Brian, there a supermarket here in the southeast. Kroger (if you've heard of them) bought them out last week. Supposed to carry the same items though.

Sure thing man. It is really easy. I started a little garden this spring and I have so much basil I didn't know what to do with it all. That stuff just grows like a beast! I was trying to figure out ways to use it up. Anyway, just let a stick of butter soften at room temp for a few hours, chop up a bunch of fresh basil, sprinkle some salt and pepper into the butter and then add the basil and mix it all up. Lay out some plastic wrap and spread the butter in a line. Roll up the plastic wrap and twist the ends so that the butter is formed into a tube and pop it back in the fridge. Then you just slice off pieces as you need them and wrap it back up. It is so easy and delicious on steaks and chicken.

Thanks, I appreciate it!
