Steak and shrooms

Dug up an old cast iron skillet I buried in the kitchen cabinet after reading about a lot of folks using cast iron on the grill. I need to season it but it worked for cooking some quick mushrooms tonight. I am hooked! Cooked with a 3 zone fire with KB on my blue weber OTG. Seasoned the shrooms with S&P and Worcestershire sauce. My steak was seasoned with weber Chicago steak seasoning and the wife's was S&P and a dash of lawrys seasoning salt. Cooked fried taters and cheesy noodles for sides. Came out great!

That looks awesome. I love doing shrooms in cast iron and having them with steak. Try hitting them with some balsamic at the end of their cooking and reduce it down a bit and throw in a pat of butter to make a sauce. You till think you have died and went to heaven. Something about balsamic and steak that screams awesome.

I love steak and 'shrooms! Excellent looking meal. Adding to the balsamic sauce mentioned above, a little brandy splashed into the mushrooms along witha splash of heavy cream and some crumbled blue cheese also does a nice job!

Cast iron cookware is the way to get iron into your diet...sometimes the old things are the best things! Great looking steaks.
