Pickup my quarter of beef today from my neighbor. This is the first time I have had one of his cows so I am hoping I won"t be disappointed. I took out a bone in ribeye and seasoned it:

Great looking steak dinner Kim!!!. I56 lbs of beef you have to eat, sounds tough but somebody has to do it!

Kim,

How big is your fire place? I have wanted to try is method for a while.

Dave ..my insert is 23" in the back and 35" in the back. It's great to cook this way on those days you don't want to go outside to cook and when you have a good fire going....lobster tail is another good one to do this way!

When we lived in South Dakota we had a blizzard that knocked power out for 4 days. We quickly learned alot of new uses for the wood burning fireplace. Steaks, frozen pizza, potatoes and chicken all work good.

Good looking rib eye!
